About Us

Founded in 2005 by Jen Kingwell, amitié Textiles began as a passion project driven by her love of bright, contemporary and distinctive fabrics. Over the years it has grown into one of Australia’s premier fabric and quilting destinations.

As Jen’s vision expanded, the business evolved beyond retail. Jen began designing her own quilt patterns and later became a fabric designer with Moda. Through her wholesale company, Jen Kingwell Designs, she now shares her patterns and fabric collections with quilt shops around the world.

To simplify this growing community, Jen has brought everything together in one place. Amitié Textiles and Jen Kingwell Designs now sit under the same roof, or website in this case. You can now find Jen’s curated retail fabrics, along with her patterns and designs, at jenkingwell.com.

For the retail store, Jen personally sources fabrics from around the world. She focuses on high quality and distinctive pieces, including many rare finds from Japan. Our collection changes often, so there is always something new to discover.
