Description

A fundraising event for young people living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

Join us for a day of fun, all for a good cause. Sit with friends new and old and stitch a block (or more) to donate to the Abbie Fennessy Trust (AFT).

Support a great cause while you learn essential techniques for hand piecing, including creating templates, and working with pre-cut acrylic templates for precision and ease.

Jen will provide tips for planning your colour combinations and achieving her signature scrappy, playful style. 

This class is suitable for all skill levels - whether you’re new to hand piecing or looking to refine your technique. By the end of the session, you’ll have a completed block to donate to the cause, as well as skills and inspiration to continue creating at home.

Requirements

  • Pattern, template plastic and fabric for 1 block will be provided.
  • Fabric scissors
  • Straw or milliners needles size 11
  • Neutral 50wt cotton thread to blend with fabrics for piecing e.g. grey or my go-to colour 2375 from Aurifil
  • General sewing requirements e.g. pins
  • JKD Mechanical pencil
  • Acrylic templates for this pattern will be available for purchase on the day (all profit from these templates will be donated to the Abbie Fennessy Trust)

About the Event

  • This event is held in-person in-store located at 87 Beach Road, Torquay 3228.
  • Coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be provided. BYO Lunch. Jen’s demonstration will end around 1pm but you are welcome to sit & stitch until 4pm when the shop closes.
  • Pattern, template plastic and fabric for 1 block will be provided. You will donate this block at the end of class.
  • Other supplies are available for purchase in store during class if not purchased ahead of time.



Cancellation Policy for Classes and Events

 

All classes and events at amitié are non-refundable – Especially those that are for charity. You can transfer your booking to a friend/family member or request that amitié find a replacement for your ticket (we cannot guarantee a replacement, and will not be responsible).  If you need to transfer your place in a class, you have the following options:

Registrants can send someone in their place into the workshop.

  • You will be responsible for handling the financial transaction between yourself and your nominated person.
  • You will notify amitié via email (retail@jenkingwell.com) notifying us of these changes from the email that the booking was made under.
